Red and white!
Touched, from the bottom of my heart
All my 3 bridesmaids/close friends have delivered their babies in the recent 3 months and certainly, motherhood talk surrounds them. They are into what milkbottle to use, which stroller to buy, what milk powder they should feed their precious little one, the delivery experience (and traumas)... Of course, the conversations often leave me baffled but well, they say it serves as a launchpad for me so that when it's my turn, i'd have 3 advisors telling me what to do. Afterall, they know i love to listen and learn from experiences :)
I chanced upon my friend's blog record for her baby today. It lists the emotions, journeys, videos and all the thoughts which she had during her pregancy (since Sep09) and the effort she put into carefully recording every emotion. I saw a video where she captured the baby's movement in her tummy and the ultrasound scans that she took whilst at the Gynae.I guess reading words from a once-anti-motherhood advocate, the episode must have been touching. As an outsider and aunty to the kids now, the blog stirred up emotions and convinced me more that "life changes when u have a child". I am really happy for her and the little one. It's really lovely to be able to "write" to your child and keep records of every single detail that surrounded his growth. Imagine being able to read your mother's thoughts and your journey into the world. MAGICAL! Wish my parents were able to do the same and i'd know all my happenings in my growing years.
I never doubted that motherhood is a magical experience but unfortunately, the journey into motherhood requires the support of 2 people and it's taking marriage to the next level. I ain't sure if i am ready for that but for sure, it's a test of love and commitment. My 3 friends keep telling me that they are surprised at the patience their hubbies extend to the little one. I guess nothing beats witnessing the journey of your newborn and appreciating the fact that bringing a child into this world is no easy feat!

An early 30th!
Yes, i finally made up my mind to buy this baby! I have been eyeing this for the longest time and since it was on sale today on Reebonz, i finally made it mine! The 1st major jewelry purchase but i believe it'll go a long way. Can't wait for it to be delivered! Some people buy this as a wedding band but well, since I don't think KL will be keen on such fashion pieces as "wedding staples", i reckon that one day, i'll buy one for myself.Aaaah, so excited. I take this as a birthday gift for myself... Hahaha, i know it's early but i really can't wait! So excited!

Melt, the World Cafe, Mandarin Oriental Singapore
KL's 32! Read so much about this decadent Sunday brunch at Mandarin Oriental and decided to part with the money (it's $98++/pax for brunch without champagne) and give it a try! It was indeed decadent... Loads of fresh seafood, lovely fore gras, runny eggs benedict and well, needless to say, the meal kept our tummies filled for the entire day. Service was excellent - they knew it was KL's birthday and surprised us with a birthday cake and song!

My first positive from the stock market
I made my first pocket of money by selling some stocks in my portfolio today. Not alot, only about $280 (wish there's another "0" at the back of the earnings!). The stock market has been pretty volatile lately (thanks to the depressing US and European markets) so there's been ups and downs. I finally rode on a bullish day to liquidate some of these stocks.I guess u do need to have time to monitor the markets to make money at the click of a button. It seems like easy money, just buy and sell and money goes into your pocket just like that.
I am wishing that the bullish days will come soon. I have another stock in my portfolio in the red and it's been in that colour for a while. Thankfully this stock still gives out dividends so well, take it as it's better than putting the money in the bank, earning a miserly 1% interest rate. Let's hope the sunny days will come soon.
