This housing search is fustrating me. We saw House #21 today - Fairways along Telok Blangah & it was crap. The blk was abt to be en-bloc so well, u can imagine the interiors. Best part, it looks haunted to me.
Actually i saw 1 that i really liked - Regency Park @ Clementi. The surroundings are good, the interior very cosy & i feel like this' the place i wanna come home too everyday. But KL says that the $3K monthly rental is too high, despite liking the place. The financial mkts are in a doldrum now & many investment bankers are fearful of being axed. I suppose that has made him indecisiveness & holding back to meet the tip of the budget, despite sharing a liking for the place.
I am getting sick & tired of this housing search. Where am i ever gonna stay after 19 July? The thought of this makes me ill.
Whether it's sunset or sunrise, it really depends on you...

House #16 Jurong East HDB
I often wonder if i am being too picky, fussy or simply unrealistic. Renting a place is much tougher than i had imagined. I always thought there'd be a house suitable for us but well, after seeing over 15 apartments, there was only 1 - Mackenzie 138 that we really liked, but unfortunately we got outbidded.

I share the pics for Apt #16. This 1 attracted me becoz of the cheap rental. The landlord agent upsold the apartment, telling us that the furnishing was "designer" and deco is really good. Maybe this upped my expecations & i was really expecting something really NICE. Well, all i can say is that apart from disappointment, i am pretty numb to the interiors. When the landlord agent kept repeating & praising the unit, i really couldn't bring myself to agree with the "Stylish" interiors as described. HONESTLY, the interiors are pretty well-maintained, considering that renovations were done 10yrs ago.
So, i suppose it's all abt expectations. My parents keep chanting that if u are just gonna stay for a yr, then u'd have to expect bare furnishing for a rented apartment. I don't know... Disappointment just clouds over me, all due to the overpromise & upselling. Maybe that's why i can't seem to agree that for $1,800, this's a gd deal.

Meeting with the Justice of Peace
Finally met the JP today. Thanks to Jiajia who recommended me Gary, the same JP who solemnized her marriage to Ben. He's a really nice guy & gave us deep insights into the values of marriage. For the 1st time in my 7 yrs with Kang Lin, i told him in his face, the 3 qualities i admired and appreciated of him.
& 1 true thing that Gary mentioned - take "divorce" out of our dictionary & when the going gets tough, always remember that a marriage involves hard work.
Honestly, i can't believe i am marrying this man, after 7 yrs of being together. This day seemed to be drawing nearer than i can imagine. Yep, this's just the start of the journey of a lifetime. As the wedding preps get more hectic, i often remind myself that it's the days after the wedding that matters. Whatever will happen, will happen.
Anyway, decided to post a pix of my wedding invite. Here goes:

Down with bacteria infection to the throat & hectic wedding preps
I just received my printed wedding cards yesterday & well, i must say that i am pretty pleased with them. Of course, let's not talk about how much each piece cost me (all thanks to the hotstamping. i didn't know abt the cost until i proceeded with print). Tying the ribbons over each card was so tiring... I have never tied so many ribbons in my life! To date, i have had gd comments about the card so well, maybe it was all worth it.
This wkend & next will be busy sending out wedding invites. It's been a while since i dropped by my wedding website & when i saw the counter, can't believe that the big day is 31 days away!!! Mum & KL's mum are so immersed into the traditional must-dos that it's driving me nuts! Plus the fact that my relatives numbers started booming outta no where. I am so looking forward to just "get it over & done with".
Next week i'll get to try my tea dress for the 1st time. Let's see if i can post some pics here (if they are nice!)

Sex & the City!
I throughly enjoyed the movie! Yep, agree that it seems like an extended version of the serial but hey, all well ends well! How many gals in the world gets a couture wedding gown from Viviene Westwood, with shoes from Manolo Blahnik shoes to go with it!? I have a sense of dejavu - afterall, i am also a soon-to-be-wed looking for an apartment with my beau!My fav part of the show is when BIG actually cited a verse from a love letter that Beethoven wrote. Awww, all so sweet (despite that he had pre-wed jitters).
Strange to be watching the movie & actually having a view of the filming sites. Obviously, Carrie's house is much nicer looking in the show.
I am gonna try to lay hands on the uncensored version of the DVD when it's released!

Prive on Keppel Bay
This is indeed 1 chic place that u must check out. Nestled on a private island belonging to the Keppel Group is Prive. There's a bakery cafe, gastrobar (lounge) & a restaurant. Ooh, the dim lights make the place all so romantic & well, the Keppel Bay bridge reminds me of the same at Cosy Bay. Best of all, there's a marina for those living in The Carribean Condo to park their boats!
This' really 1 ATAS place to be seen & to see. If not for my NTU classmates who organized a gathering there, i'd probably never knew the place existed. Unfortunately, u really do need your own transport to reach Prive. It's faraway from the hustle & bustle of the city & well, engage in a world of your own when u are there.
I'm gonna bring KL there 1 day for dessert.
